Today's first IdolBirthday takes us back to American Idol Season 1. This is where we first met Akelee Relliford. If we can all remember that far back she was one of the Top 45 Contestants of American Idol's first season. Our next IdolBirthday takes north to Canada where we met Theo Tams in Canadian Idol's 6th Season. Theo's debut album released back in 2009 and he has another one not far behind with a tentative release sometime next year. Today we wish Theo a Happy 25th Birthday. 6/30 Fantasia Barrino 1984

We were first introduced to Fantasia Barrino back in 2004 as she rose to fame as the third winner of American Idol. She accomplished so much since her Idol Journey. She has been on Broadway and has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards. And after playing the part of Celie in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, she is cast to be in the film adaptation of the movie. There is so much more to come from this artist. 7/1 Kaylan Loyd 1992

Kaylan comes from a long line of family musicians. At the age of two her parents began to discover her love for music as well. With influeces such as: Martina Mcbride, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Christina Aguleira, her Parents and many more, she began to practice day and night. When she turned 8 she sang for her first "Big" audience, singing the National Anthem at The Walk of America (March of Dimes) in downtown Nashville. They have asked her back every year since that day. When she turned 10 she got her first Violin/Fiddle, shortly after the purchase, playing by ear, she taught herself how to play it. 2 years later, at 12, she sang on Talent Search T.V. at Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, taking First place. At 14 Kaylan got her first guitar for Christmas(2006), a few hours later she went upstairs and played her family "Leave the Peices" by The Wreckers. At 15 Kaylan entered a school competition "Patriot Idol", she took First place. Also at 15 she sang the National Anthem for a Nashville Sounds baseball game. On her "Sweet 16" birthday, she performed at "Jonesborough Days" in East Nashville, and the same night, sang at the "Cranberry Thistle", on the square. At 16, with even more experience and exposure, she has become an aspiring Singer/Songwriter, with daring dreams she can't wait to pursue. The 6/21 Birthdays take us back to Season 1 where Christina Christian came in sixth place. Since Idol Christina has appeared on CSI Miami, she has also made her movie debut and has gotten married and has a sun. She is currently in London working on her debut album. Today we wish this rising star a Happy 29th Birthday!!!


The other birthday today is that of Season 8 winner Kris Allen. Since Idol Kris has been up to a lot of things. He's performed on Access Hollywood, Live with Regis & Kelly, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. In '09 He performed at the Wal-mart shareholder's meeting. Allen's self-titled album was released on November 17, 2009. After its first week of sales, the album debuted at 11 on the Billboard 200 after selling just over 80,000 copies. On February 25, 2010, he sang Let it Be for Haiti Relief on American Idol results show. After returning to the American Idol stage for the first time since his win, Allen will hit the road for his solo tour, starting in Madison, WI on May 29, 2010 and ending in Galveston, TX on July 3. He will supplement his solo tour by joining other major acts, including Keith Urban, OneRepublic, Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies and another rocker "Idol" alum, Daughtry. Our first set of birthday wishes goes out to Katherine St. Laurent. You all may remember Katherine from Canadian Idol Season 6, having been the youngest competitor of that season and making all the way to the Top 9. So IdolPhenomena would like to wish her a Happy 19th Birthday.

Our next set of birthday wishes goes out to Andrew Leader. Andrew was a member of Canadian Idol Season 1's Wild Card group. If you can remember that far back he sang Me and Mrs. Jones. Today we'd like to wish Andrew a Happy 33rd Birthday.


Today's third set of birthday wishes go out to American Idol Season 1 Hollywood Contestant Emmy Robbin. Today Emmy turns 28. Since Idol Emmy has been an extra in films like Sin City and Planet Terror. She has also been a local celebrity in Austin, TX as a VJ for a local music channel. So Happy 28th Birthday Emmy.

We would also like to wish American Idol Season 1 Finalist RJ Helton a belated birthday. His official birthday was May 17th. So we are a couple hours late in wishing RJ a Happy 29th Birthday we hope he's not too mad. :-) You can check a website here that is dedicated to RJ's musical endeavors after Idol.

Okay IdolPhenomena followers every know and then it is big a day for Birthdays like it is today. IdolPhenomena would like to wish the very first American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson Happy Birthday! Today Kelly turns 28 and in those 28 yrs she has won 12 Billboard Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards and 2 Grammys and she is a Multi-Platinum selling artist. Today he turns 30 and since his stint on Idol has been nominated for several awards and has released a debut album My Best Days for which he has sold over 1000,000 copies. Joelle James is also celebrating her 20th Birthday today. For those of you who don't remember Joelle she made the Top 40 in American Idol Season 6. Since then she has had a variety of accomplishments he first being making it as far as she did in American Idol at the age of 16. She has been a finalist on Star Search (CBS), performed on America's Most Talented Kids (PAX), and performed on Showtime in Harlem (UPN). Today’s IdolReflections post is going highlight Jazmin Lowery. Jazmin was featured in Season 1’s Group 2. She chose to sing Tamia’s You Put a Move on My Heart which displayed her natural raw talent. In my opinion she along with half of Group 2 should have made it through at least to the Wild Card round.

Okay IdolPhenomena followers this is the IdolReflections post. This is where we will post an outstanding audition that may have been passed over by the rest of the public but we at IdolPhenomena know that these contestants/artists are absolutely amazing. Our first candidate is Gil Sinuet, from American Idol Season 1. He chose to sing Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder which vocally was incredible; however, he lacked confidence in himself. Unfortunately runner-up Justin Guarini chose the same song that night and blew it right out of the water. Check out his Group 2 audition below.
