Idols Around the World Entry 1
Posted: Monday, March 1, 2010 by MiKey in Labels: American Idol Season 1, Brian Melo, Eva Avila, Kalan Porter, Melissa O'Neil, Ryan Malcolm, Theo Tams, X-Factor
When Simon Fuller created the concept of the Idol program little did he know how popular it would become. The idol phenomena all started in the UK where the first Idol Will Young was crowned. Since then it has spawned similar shows in almost 40 Countries all around the world. From the U.S. all the way to Australia this talent search competition has given rise to some of the world’s most noticeable figures in the music industry seemingly overnight. Including Will Young, Kelly Clarkson, Guy Sebastian, Clay Aiken, Rick-Lee Coulter, Jaclyn Victor, Carrie Underwood, Heinz Winckler, Peter Evrard, Kurt Nilsen, Taufik Batisah, Žanamari Lalić, Anthony Callea, Sam and Mark.
As well as some noticeable judges and hosts; Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Ryan Seacrest, Kyle Sandilands, Marcia Hines, Ian Dickson, Andrew G, James Mathison, Benjamin Castaldi, and André Manoukian just to name a few.
As you read this there are currently at least 5 different idol shows in progress at this time somewhere between auditions and semi-finals and more to start their audition processes for a new season. The format has been mimicked by many other shows especially X-Factor which itself has been taken in and produced in many different countries around the world. One of X-Factors most notable winners is nationally known recording artist Leona Lewis; but enough about X-Factor here because this site is totally dedicated to Idol.
I decided that it would be interesting to hop around the world sort of speak and see what the Idol winners have contributed to the music industry. With the official closing ceremony of the Winter 2010 Olympics taking place in Vancouver, Canada I thought it would only be right to start there. So watch IdolPhenomena to see what I have to say about artists like Ryan Malcolm, Melissa O’Neil, Kalan Porter, Eva Avila, Brian Melo, and Theo Tams.
