Apparently the results were meant to shock us however after 55 Million Votes I still had a hunch that Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo would be sent home this week. On Thursday’s results show they decided to change it up with several small group performance. First up were Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina singing I Told You So by Carrie Underwood feat. Randy Travis. This was an amazingly beautiful duet between two talented young people. Dare I call it a precursor to the finale, with such a touching performance both Scotty and Lauren are safe and move on to the next week. This performance was followed by yet another one of those Ford Commercial’s that we all love- Not Really. Next Naima Adedapo and Jacob Lusk perform Solid by Ashford & Simpson. Sorry Naima you weren’t solid at all through this competition therefore you are the first person in this week’s Bottom 3. Oh yeah obviously Jacob is safe, why wouldn’t he be? Fantasia’s performance of Collard Greens and Cornbread was absolutely horrendous. First what was it that possessed you to wear such an awkward outfit and what was on your head. I really wasn’t a Fantasia fan when she won Idol in Season 3. However, she has had some amazing career moments like her version of Summertime on the Idol stage and having the opportunity to play Celie in the Broadway musical the Color Purple. For me she has her highs and her lows within the industry.

Fantasia’s performance was followed by Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart and Thia Megia singing Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. Three great talents with different voices that definitely are not meant to harmonize together. This performance was horribly clashy. It felt like they were each singing the song in different keys. Obviously Thia is the second in the Bottom 3 and both Pia and Haley are safe. So throughout this process Top 13 Finalist Stefano Langone, Casey Abrams, James Durbin and Paul McDonald have formed a “band” together they took the stage with Band on the Run by Paul McCartney. After this performance Paul would be announced as the last member of this week’s Bottom 3. Next there is another awful performance this time by Will.I.Am and Jamie Foxx singing Hot Wings from the upcoming movie Rio. After this horribleness Paul is sent back to safety and fellow Milwaukee auditioners Naima and Thia say goodbye to the competition.

This week the 9 remaining Idol Finalists bring you songs from the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. I wonder what they will sing. My thoughts on this will be up later today-I Promise ;-).
