Tonight is the final verdict the Top 10 would be determined by the votes from the past two nights. The Top 24 would be cut down to 10 and then the additional Wild Card spots. Starting with over 125,000 people auditioning for Idol in various cities across the U.S. 327 people were lucky enough to be invited to Hollywood for second chance at their dream. After two days of cuts Day 1 and 2 of Hollywood Week left only an estimated 168 contestants were left still standing. These remaining contestants moved into the always dreaded group day. After all the stress and pressures of group day the Top 100 contestants gave their final solos on the Hollywood stage. From that they were split into four rooms and were cut almost in half. The 61 Idol hopefuls remaining were then informed of this year’s first twist. They were all invited to Las Vegas where they were asked to perform songs by the Beatles on the Cirque du Soleil Love Stage at the Mirage Resort and Casino. And then the Top 61 soon became the Top 40. The Top 40 again made their way to Hollywood just weeks ago for the Sing for Your Life round and from that the Top 24 contestants emerged, 12 Guys and 12 Girls. They performed for us only for more cuts to be had and only a mere couple hours ago, considering right now as I write this its 10:52 PM EST America’s 40 Million votes put 10 contestants into the final round. They were Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Pia Toscano, Karen Rodriguez, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Thia Megia, Paul McDonald, Haley Reinhart and James Durbin. Following the verdict 14 Contestants remained hoping for a chance to be one of the judge’s wildcards. The Six Wild Cards were chosen.
